Join the Orchestra

You can join the noSHOW Proms orchestra, choose your instrument and the work you would most like to not perform.

It’s so easy – no rehearsals, no dress or dinner suit to dry clean and no stage fright. You can play a Stradivarius, celestial harp or anything else you’ve always wanted to pluck, blow or beat. Then, for the programme, select your favourite work or suggest your own composition (you never know who’s reading!). Remember, it’ll be you who won’t be performing it.

Every week we’ll select and publish the most original or amusing repertoire.

We’d like to create the largest noSHOW orchestra in the world and it’s FREE to join.

When you donate, you can download your ‘artist’s contract’ in the form of a full-colour noSHOW Prom poster featuring your name, instrument and work. Print it, display it or lock it away to show future grandchildren.

When you join, you agree not to perform in the noSHOW Orchestra on August 9th at the Cambridge noSHOW Summer Prom – so don’t you dare turn up! You should also ensure you miss all rehearsals, so, if you cannot play a note, your secret is safe with us.
